1. What is a film capacitor?
Let's figure out first, what is a film capacitor? Film capacitors use metal foil as an electrode, and it is laminated with plastic films such as polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene or polycarbonate from both ends, and then wound into a cylindrical capacitor. Currently mass-produced film capacitors include polystyrene, polyethylene, polypropylene, polytetrafluoroethylene, polyester (polyester), polycarbonate, and composite films. Among them, polypropylene (CBB capacitor) and polyester film capacitor (CL capacitor) are used the most.
2. What is a CBB capacitor?
CBB capacitors belong to a category of film capacitors, that is, metallized polypropylene film capacitors. CBB capacitors are also called polypropylene capacitors. This capacitor is made of metallized polypropylene film. Polypropylene film is the core raw material for making CBB capacitors. The metallized film is made by evaporating aluminum or zinc-aluminum on the surface of the film in a vacuum state. The material has a large dielectric constant, high insulation resistance, good heat resistance and good stretch resistance, and is suitable for making metallized polypropylene film capacitors.
